poetry | we speak, in unspoken words

Emotions which can only be awakened as the night skies darken and the candle light sparkles,
I am you, soundly sleeping through the day with open eyes.
Systematically speaking pre-rehearsed proverbial lines
With deplorable expressions at insensitive times.

I am as you once were,
High neck and long fingers
Held close to round lips
Faintly curling at the corners.
Strong eyebrows accompany empty eyes. Never intending to offend
I look away before providing you with the chance
To return the smile.

You use coarse hands to smooth out the cracks in your lifetime, I use delicate strokes to wipe out every single soul that draws close.
